Gender, Inclusion, Protection & Safeguarding M&E Academy Course
Introduction
Gender equality, social inclusion, protection, and safeguarding have become essential pillars in humanitarian, development, and institutional programming. This course equips participants with advanced Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) skills to design, implement, and assess gender-responsive, inclusive, and safeguarding-focused programs that ensure no one is left behind.
Organizations today are increasingly required to demonstrate accountability in addressing gender disparities, disability inclusion, child protection, and safeguarding risks. This course provides practical tools and frameworks for integrating these principles into M&E systems, ensuring that programs are equitable, safe, and responsive to diverse population needs.
Participants will explore how to measure gender equality outcomes, track inclusion indicators, and evaluate protection and safeguarding mechanisms across different sectors. The course emphasizes results-based M&E approaches that highlight social justice, human rights, and vulnerability reduction.
A strong focus is placed on data disaggregation by gender, age, disability, and other vulnerability factors. Learners will develop skills in collecting sensitive data ethically and analyzing it to inform inclusive decision-making and policy development.
The training also addresses safeguarding risks in project implementation, including protection from sexual exploitation and abuse (PSEA), child safeguarding, and workplace safety standards. Participants will learn how to build robust safeguarding monitoring systems that ensure accountability at all levels.
By the end of the course, participants will be able to design and implement gender-sensitive and protection-focused M&E systems that strengthen inclusion, improve program accountability, and promote safe and equitable outcomes for all beneficiaries.
